Responsibilities

Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full time Supervisor Vascular Technology for our Franciscan Vascular Surgery Clinic in Tacoma, WA. Join our dynamic and expanding practice as a full-time Vascular Tech Supervisor! This
leadership opportunity allows you to oversee a team of 26 well-established vascular technologists across our Tacoma, Lakewood, Gig Harbor, Federal Way, Burien and Enumclaw lab locations. We are seeking an individual with a passion for leadership and a commitment to fostering a team-based culture.

Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, assigning, coordinating, and controlling Vascular Technologist care within the scope of licensure and services for patients.  Act as a clinic leader to ensure the mission and goals of the organization are met.

Essential Duties:

Coordinate and Supervise all aspects of Vascular lab operations and activities including selection, orientation, training and staffing, in collaboration with the Clinic Manager; ensure effective development and implementation of HR Policies and Procedures; ensure efficient and quality service and compliance with regulations and clinic standards or quality patient care and patient confidentiality. Prepare clinical staff schedules. Monitor, edit and sign off on staff timecards each pay period.Performs high quality, accurate non-invasive diagnostic vascular exams including extracranial cerebrovascular, intracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, peripheral venous, dialysis access, abdominal arterial, abdominal venous and inraoperative monitoring.  Performs all examinations in accordance with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Intersociatal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Labs (ICAVL) standards and written clinic protocols.  Willing to work at inpatient and outpatient settings and at all lab locations as required.  Performs a basic history and physical prior to the patient’s non-invasive evaluation, to ensure there is a proper indication to perform any exam.Conduct employee performance appraisals for supervised staff, setting individual goals and follow-up as outlined in policies and procedures. Coordinate with the Clinic Manager, Medical Director and other staff to set appropriate goals for the clinic.  Communicate clinic goals to employees and ensure that they have the tools and means necessary to achieve them.Performs same day and emergent add-ons as required.  Compares evaluation to previous evaluations as necessary.  Interprets the findings of each exam and is able to accurately report the findings in a preliminary report format in a timely manner upon completion of the study.  Ensures that all referring providers are notified with findings for all same day emergent add-ons; notifies the referring provider with all emergent findings on all in and out patients.Uses patient identifiers appropriately to identify inpatients and outpatients.  Enters patient information accurately into the demographic screen on each ultrasound machine and in to the reporting software.  Accurately bills exams and completes charge sheets appropriately.  Performs incidental office duties as necessary to maintain the completeness of the patient record.  Remains up to date with the most current Medicare billing guidelines.  Documents all necessary interactions with referring providers in the patient’s permanent medical record.Serves as a liaison between patients, interpreting physicians and referring providers; explains testing procedures to patient. Performs incidental office duties as required to maintain the completeness of the patient record.Utilizes appropriate educational resources to maintain currency in vascular ultrasound, attends local and national professional conferences to stay abreast of new procedures, equipment or information. Meets the standards of ARDMS continuing medical education requirements.  Maintains registered vasculartechnologist certification (RVT).

Qualifications

Education/ Work Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.Five (5) years clinical vascular experience required.Completion of an accredited allied health education program, plus completion of a six (6) to twelve (12) month externship in vascular ultrasound.Previous Supervisory or Lead experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification required. Current BLS certification within 30 days of date of hire.
