This hands-on leadership role is essential to promoting safety, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will hold a **CDL Class B license** and bring strong experience in driver supervision, safety compliance, and training program delivery. **Key Responsibilities** + Provide direct supervision to transit drivers, ensuring consistent adherence to schedules, safety standards, and performance expectations. + Clearly communicate job duties, operational procedures, and company policies to drivers. + Monitor and evaluate driver performance through regular check-ins, observations, and reporting; offer coaching, feedback, and formal evaluations. + Conduct thorough accident investigations at the scene and assist with all related reporting (accident, OSHA, and safety documentation). + Develop and deliver onboarding programs, safety courses, and refresher training for new and existing drivers. + Conduct ride-alongs and field safety observations; identify and address safety concerns in real time and document accordingly. + Serve as the primary liaison between drivers, clients, and internal teams to quickly resolve service-related concerns. + Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and transportation regulations. + Support DOT/FTA compliance by coordinating drug testing, maintaining accurate records, and assisting the Safety Manager as needed. + Provide support in dispatching, hiring, interviewing, and performing administrative or operational tasks. + Operate transit vehicles periodically to maintain CDL license requirements and stay familiar with service demands. + Perform additional duties as assigned by management. **Minimum Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or equivalent + 2–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in public or private transit operations + Training and/or human resources experience is a plus **Skills & Knowledge:** + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures + Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities + Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal + Fluency in English **Additional Requirements:** + Valid **CDL Class B** license (or ability to obtain and maintain) + Reliable transportation for travel within the service area + Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends **Essential Physical Requirements** + Ability to hear, speak, and see clearly for safety and communication + Manual dexterity for handling documentation and writing reports + Physical capability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend during inspections + Comfort working in varying environmental conditions (hot, cold, wet) + Ability to board and inspect transit vehicles and navigate transit facilities **Working Conditions** + This role involves work in diverse environments, including: + Office settings + Maintenance facilities + Onboard transit vehicles + Must be physically able to travel between locations and perform field-based supervisory tasks **Compensation & Benefits** + **Preferred Pay Rate:** $25.00/hour + **Health Insurance:** Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans + **Paid Time Off (PTO):** + **Vacation:** 2 weeks of paid vacation available **immediately upon hire** + **Paid Holidays:** Company-recognized holidays off with pay + **Additional Benefits:** Eligibility for company perks, wellness programs, and other benefit offerings as available **Disclaimer** This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities and requirements of the Driver Supervisor role.
