Supervisor Phlebotomy

What you'll do The Supervisor Phlebotomy coordinates the daily activities of phlebotomy while providing at the elbow leadership and support. Performs and handles problems regarding specimen registration, collection, receiving, processing, and reporting. Assists with the selection of staff, provides training and assesses competency for phlebotomy and processing staff and assure staff are following established policies and procedures. Assists in the development of policies and procedures in area of responsibility. + Coordinates and delegates work assignments, handles problems regarding lab orders, specimen collection, receiving, processing, reporting, and reference lab functions + Evaluates staffing and makes necessary adjustments on a daily basis assuring all critical areas of phlebotomy and processing are covered and work is completed accurately and in a timely manner + Oversees training of new staff and completion of required competency assessments + Assists with development and annual review of policies, procedures, and processes for the assigned areas + Participates in the daily work as necessary to assure competency is maintained and as workload demands + Assures all regulatory requirements for record keeping and documentation are met + Assumes responsibilities of phlebotomy supervisor in his/her absence + Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice What we need from you Education: + High School or GED, required + 2 Year/Associate Degree, preferred Experience: + Minimum 1 year of pertinent laboratory experience, required Licensure/Certifications: + A Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) from training in a formal phlebotomy program which includes a minimum of sixty (60) hours of didactic training and sixty (60) hours of clinical experience, preferred Skills: + Communication + Computer Skills + Critical Thinking + Customer Service + Interacting with People + Multi-Tasking + Coaching + Accountability + Accuracy Physical Requirements: + Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects + Occasional balancing, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping + Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, hearing, seeing/monitor/computer use, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking + Constant fit testing Hazards: + Occasional chemical, mechanical + Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure Working Conditions: + Occasional extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wet and/or humid, odors Travel: + Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis Total Rewards Bassett Healthcare Network’s commitment to our employees includes benefit programs carefully designed with the needs and values of all our employees in mind. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $49,452.33/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $74,178.49/Yr.
