Novant Health is seeking a Supervisor Pharmacy Procurement! The Supervisor of Pharmacy Purchasing is responsible for procurement activities related to pharmaceutical purchases for Novant Health Pharmacy. Responsible for drug shortage monitoring, research and procurement.

What You'll Do
Essential Functions • Leadership: Serves as Supervisor of Purchasing for the corporate pharmacy. Provides expertise and serves as a role model to Pharmacy Buyers. The Supervisor of Purchasing must possess the ability to guide buyers in their work to the appropriate source for products/services. • Administrative: Performs complex, high dollar buying assignments system-wide for physician group purchases. Oversee requests for drugs to ensure that all requests meet with purchasing policies and procedures. Oversee placement of and assure proficient, system-wide orders for drug requests. Accountable for receiving pricing, shipping terms, estimated deliver dates. Holds buyers accountable to adhere to prudent buyer philosophy: they work to ensure prompt receipt entry and invoice reconciliation and payment; maintain continued good credit with vendors. Holds staff accountable to maintain records, reports and files. Monitor research and report drug shortages. Understand procurement policy as it relates to vouchers vs. purchase orders. Build and maintain customer templates. Holds staff accountable to pharmacy procurement policy and procedure. • Quality Improvement: Performs vendor follow-up on price discrepancies between purchase order price and invoice price. Review open purchase orders file on a monthly basis. Define discrepancies and work toward resolutions and order completion. Search for improved and/or less costly materials and supplies within the classification assigned. Recommend standardization/contracts to Contracting Specialist for investigation. Improve processes of purchasing drugs. Monitors research and reports drug shortages. • Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacy staff to provide outstanding customer service. Serve as a team member on pharmacy procurement teams as needed. Work with other departments, vendors, and customers to ensure standardization and cost effectiveness.
What We're Looking For
Education: Associates Degree, required. 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Experience: Minimum five years demonstrated progressive experience in healthcare. Minimum two years of drug purchasing experience, required. Novant Health procurement experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: PTCB, required. NC BOP Technician Registration, required.
Additional Skills Required: Considerable knowledge and application of basic math skills, including ratio and proportion relationships; familiarity with keyboard; extensive ability to communicate accurately and effectively under pressure; good written communication skills; ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
