Supervisor Patient Access

Crouse’s Patient Access team is hiring a Full Time Patient Access Supervisor.

Pay Range: $68,000.00-$81,084.00/annual

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Patient Access Supervisor Position Responsibilities:

Attends and actively participates in hospital or medical performance improvement councils and committees as requested. Proactively communicates with staff and keeps them informed on a regular basis or as needed; updates staff regarding policy changes in specialized areas. Develops and utilizes department policy statements, scope of service, quality indicators and updates; revises as necessary. Performs staff management functions related to employee selection, on-boarding/orientation, coaching/development, staffing, work assignments, performance management and goal alignment as guided by hospital policy and procedures and collective bargaining unit agreement (when applicable). Participates, collaborates and actively engages in meetings to achieve goals and mutually beneficial outcomes. Conducts regular staff meetings to disseminate hospital and/or department/division information and allows for discussion of staff concerns needing clarification or resolution. Proactively monitors daily patient registration processes and procedures to maintain the highest level of efficiency and accuracy and to facilitate proper payment to the hospital for provided services. Effectively monitors payer denials and minimizes impact by working collaboratively with Patient Financial Services. Assists department leadership by collecting and preparing data for the department CQI program in a timely and organized fashion. Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Patient Access Supervisor Position Requirements:

Associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years healthcare admitting, billing, business office, or other equivalent related experience or High School Diploma with 4 years of healthcare admitting, billing, business office, or other equivalent related experience. An additional 1-2 years of successful leadership experience and 2-5 years of progressive experience in the admissions/pre-registration areas of a hospital is strongly preferred. Strong computer skills and knowledge including Word, Excel, Windows, PowerPoint and Access Familiarity with medical terminology.
