The Supervisor, Nursing is a professional, registered nurse who is a skilled communicator, collaborator and authentic leader. The Supervisor, Nursing supports the organization in the execution of the nursing strategic plan and priorities. The Supervisor, Nursing actively participates in unit and hospital decision-making and provides meaningful recognition to others and provides operational and administrative support to Nurse leadership. This position effectively coordinates staffing, supports throughput, quality and safety outcomes, staff competency, hiring, clinical and staff corrective actions, unit efficiency, quality care and other departmental activities to support the mission, vision and values of Hackensack Meridian Health. The Supervisor, Nursing in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, assesses, plans, implements, monitors and evaluates nursing practice and the nursing care delivery system with direct supervision of front-line staff.
ResponsibilitiesA Day in the life of a Nurse Supervisor at Hackensack Meridian Health, in collaboration with the Nurse Manager includes:
Participate with recruitment and retention strategiesAssist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employeesParticipates with unit goal creation which are reflective of the hospital goals as well as the mission and vision of Hackensack Meridian HealthParticipate or lead when appropriate: evidenced-based practice projects or researchParticipate or lead when appropriate: unit-based or hospital based shared governance committees or councilsResolve conflicts and facilitates constructive resolutions and positive outcomes if possibleComplete employee corrective action plans/counseling as necessaryAdhere to HMH¿s Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behaviorPrepare and conduct periodic performance evaluations to assigned staff membersContribute to and/or monitors the unit orientation process of all roles as necessaryModel cultural competence, social justice and fairness, and capitalizes on generational diversity to foster highly effective work groups Qualifications NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, MSN preferredMinimum 3 years recent nursing experience in respective specialty or equivalent requiredAHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification requiredThe ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.National Certification acceptable to the Magnet Recognition Program and appropriate to your current specialty (within two years of hire). Starting at $131,144.00 Annually
