Supervises the daily activities of the Transport Scheduling and Planning team; ensures loads are scheduled for delivery and assigned to drivers or common carriers in accordance to store inventory levels and sales forecasts

Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates and motivates the Transport Scheduling and Planning team; directs the daily work of direct reportsOversees the daily load plans and scheduling to ensure customer service levels are met and strives to meet the goal of zero outagesCollaborates with internal partners to ensure that inventory supply is managed and dispatched appropriately; plans deliveries based on store inventory levels and forecasted sales in order to meet business demandsIdentifies root cause analysis in the event of an outage and completes outage protocol; provides timely communication of critical events that need to be considered and/or addressed by ManagementMaintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations, including, but not limited to, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT); ensures drivers are in compliance with all applicable regulations and/or internal policiesIdentifies process changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations accordinglyProvides expertise at various meetings by attending and presenting data as neededDevelops and presents reports regarding performance and financial impact as neededCreates and administers departmental operating expense budgets and sets priorities for spending based upon Company guidelines and strategiesDevelops training programs for dispatchers on department policies and procedures; ensures proper completion and documentation of training requirements and computer-based trainingsEnsures staff coverage 24 hours per day, seven days per weekDevelops subordinates and recommends placement in positions suitable for their career progression; conducts performance appraisals and recommends salary consideration for personnelCompletes departmental reporting as neededCompletes other duties as assigned by Management
