On our Nutrition Services team, your job will be to create a healing environment and nutritious food — just like our patients have come to expect. For you, that means joining a team that’s focused on delivering world-class care. As the Supervisor of Nutrition Services, you will supervise kitchen service activities and the delivery of food to patients. You will implement established procedures and methods for the kitchen service units and coordinate with other food service units as necessary. Your goal will be to ensure patients receive accurate orders and to ensure quality and safety in care received. Because you will be working with a wide variety of caregivers as well as patients, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Taking on this opportunity will not only allow you to advance your management skills but can also lead to growth within the department, all while being a part of an elite healthcare organization.
A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 5:30AM – 2:00PM or 12:30PM – 9:00PM, including rotating weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare work schedules, assign personnel, evaluate work performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
Prepare written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
Check trays on tray line for accuracy, temperature and appearance.
Direct loading, delivery and pickup of food carts on schedule.
Coordinate main kitchen production for patient services and arrange staffing physical layout and set up.
Prepare all tube feeding for the facility.
Direct maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort and safety of patients and staff.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager OR one year of supervisor experience in a related field
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Previous nutrition/food services experience
Hospitality experience
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
