Where is the work:
On-Site (5 days)
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the materials department within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the efficient flow of raw materials and components from stock locations to production, while maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting on-time production schedules. The Materials Supervisor leads a team responsible for storage, inventory control, and material distribution to the production lines.
What you will do:
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the materials team including warehousing, inventory control, and line supply.
• Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer demand.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Coordinate with procurement, planning, and production teams to ensure material availability and resolve shortages.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for material handling and storage.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse and materials areas.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy, material availability, and on-time delivery to production.
• Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and reduce waste.
• Work with ERP/MRP systems to manage transactions related to materials movement and inventory.
What you will bring:
• Certificate or degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 1-2+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and material planning.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
