Supervisor role to cover 2nd/3rd shift operations

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Supervisor Lab Support Services supervises the department by coordinating workflows related to all aspects of laboratory support services to include processing, phlebotomy, specimen transport, supply distribution, patient registration, and customer service. They ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Essential Job Functions

Utilizes working knowledge of procedures and theories in all areas of responsibilities.

Hires, onboards, and administers disciplinary actions of staff as needed.

Completes schedule and manages timekeeping.

Implements policies and procedures as relates to specific area.

Oversees training and orientation of staff. 

 Maintains standards of accreditation for their area.

Performs regular discussion on priorities and performance to staff via touch bases, check-ins, etc.

Licensing/Certification

Phlebotomy Certification (preferred)

Education

Associates, Medical Technology, healthcare or a related science (preferred)

Work Experience

5 years experience in a clinical laboratory setting (required)

Previous experience in a leadership position in customer service environment (preferred)

If supervising phlebotomy, 3 years phlebotomy experience (required)
