Set parameters of complex laboratory instrumentation to perform testing by applying microbiology knowledge and concepts.
How you'll make an impact:
• Supervise and oversee laboratory utilization and activities in assigned areas (e.g., testing, calibration, validation, maintenance of equipment and budget/cost control for assigned area) ,including establishing schedules and executing budgets
• Lead moderately complex improvement projects while identifying opportunities
• Partner with stakeholders on quality, safety and environmental investigations and/or corrective actions, including participating with internal audits.
• Develop moderately complex protocols in collaboration with cross-functional teams in support of laboratory needs.
• Analyze, research, and acquire equipment in collaboration with management, while providing input on resource planning, including staffing. Provide input and/or manage a cost center with budget responsibilities
• Build and maintain corporate connections to provide technical expertise on laboratory utilization, design (e.g. workflow, airflow, electrical) and construction
Analyze moderately complex performance and quality metrics
• Other duties as assigned: (e.g. work with R&D to set up equipment for product and process demonstrations, collaborate with stakeholders on managing and allocation laboratory space requirements, test method transfers and/or improvements, installation of laboratory equipment)
What you'll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree or internship, or substantial technical knowledge and experience in assigned work area, and sufficient experience in laboratory environment
Minimum 2 years of previous related experience with full responsibility for all personnel including hire/fire authority and handling all aspects of employee relations in a laboratory setting
Experience working in a medical device industry
