Job Summary and Responsibilities
Under indirect supervision the incumbent is accountable for assisting management with coordinating the overall operation of the department to ensure that the optimal schedules, staffing levels and payroll outcomes are in effect and are based upon census, acuity and budget. Incumbent is also responsible for assisting management with ensuring sound financial oversight of operations. The incumbent incorporates differences into the provision of care and integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families with an awareness of cost containment and time management. In addition the incumbent trains, evaluates and supervises staff in carrying out department policies and procedures. The position reports to the Manager Ground Ambulance. Positions reporting to this position are EMTs and Paramedics.
