into the Hartford HealthCare network and is the systemrsquos second largest hospitalJob SummarySupervises the facilities department while supporting a variety of functions in the department This role is responsible for leading and developing staff and managing the facility efficiently and effectively When necessary this role also provides hands on assistance or training to facilitate the completion of required maintenance tasksEnsures efficient daily operations of the maintenance department Hospital and ambulatory departmentsrsquo compliance of Regulatory Standards and Requirements which includes environment of care and life safety standardsmiddot Supervises and provides direction to maintenance staff along with monitoring of the work order system Ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customermiddot Responsible for monthly inspections and preventative maintenance of offsite facilities scheduled by the Facility Manager to meet all local state and federal regulations Coordinates with offsite program leadership to coordinate monthly environment of care roundsmiddot Collaborates with the Facility Manager in identifying and addressing maintenance and safety issues for the location Monitor supply usage and completed repairs to maintain adequate inventory of building and maintenance materials Conduct weekly inspections to ensure buildings and grounds are properly maintained for clients staff visitors and regulatory agenciesmiddot Appropriately documents rounding testing drills etcmiddot Assist with the scheduling of outside contractors and ensure quality control of same in the absence of the Facility Managermiddot Manage emergency preparedness protocols to maintain safe conditions during adverse weather including coordinating timely snow and ice removalmiddot Assist with responsibilities for emergencies and after hours coveragemiddot Perform other related duties as requiredWork where every moment mattersEvery General Maintenance Carpentry Painting Electrical Plumbing and Mechanical experience requiredmiddot yrs of experience in buildingproperty maintenance preferredmiddot yrs of experience in a supervisory position preferredmiddot yrs of experience in a similar healthcare environment preferredmiddot yr prior experience in a union setting preferredmiddot Understanding and knowledge of general maintenance HVAC Basic electrical Landscaping Plumbing and general carpentry Requires hands on experience in one of the above mentioned tradesmiddot Must have a general knowledge of the environment of care and life safety requirements for hospitals and behavioral health facilitiesmiddot Must be able to work well with others manage a small crew take direction and follow through on assigned tasksmiddot Must
