Supervisor Facilities Maintenance - McLaren Careers
**Position Summary:** Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain buildings/facilities. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. May be involved in new construction or modification of existing properties. Receives customer repairs and maintenance requests, determines appropriate actions and assigns work to employees. Coordinates requests for outages and utility shutdowns related to scheduled projects. Provides input into the development of department policies and procedures. Ensures employees maintain current knowledge of techniques and procedures. Assist in meeting the business, financial, customer, service quality and regulatory requirements of the area. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:** 1. Plans, prioriti z es, assigns, supervises, reviews, and parti c ipates in the work of staff responsible for facili t y maintenance. 2. Establishes schedules and methods for p r ovidi n g facil i ty m a intena n ce services; identi f ies reso u rce needs; reviews needs with appropriate m a n a gement staff; allocates resources accordingly. 1. Accomplishes human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures. 2. Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implements production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolves problems. 5. Participates in the preparation and ad m i nistrat i on of the facility maintenance b udget; sub m its budget rec o mmenda t ions; m onitors expenditures; prepares cost est i m ates; s u b m its justifications for equipment; m onitors bud g et expenditu r es; identifies variances; implements corrective actions. 6. Monitors and controls supplies and e q uip m ent; or d e rs supplies and tools as necessar y ; prepares docu m ents f o r equip m ent procure m ent; prepares specif i cations and contracts for contract services. 1. Monitors and maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment including adhering to a preventive maintenance program; operates and tests systems and equipment; restores, repairs, rebuilds, or replaces faulty or inoperative components and parts. 2. Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifies recommends, and implements changes, expansions, and additions. 9. Perfo r ms the m o r e technic a l and co m p l e x tasks of the work unit as needed. 1. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal codes and regulations. 11. Stays current on knowledge of technology and state and federal regulations. 12. Performs other related duties as required and directed. **Qualifications:** _Required:_ **·** **High school diploma or GED.** **·** Two y ears of college level course work in bu s iness, management, engineering, or a rela t e d field. **·** Four y ears of increasingly responsible facility m a in t e nance expe r ience including so m e lead superviso r y experience. + Valid state driver's license. * Driving record must be within the approved insurance company’s regulations. _Preferred:_ + Associates degree in engineering + High Pressure Boiler Operators License.
