Job SummarySupervises the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department. Acts as a technical resource for team members. Implements goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units. Provides effective utilization of personnel, policies, and procedures in order to ensure a clean, safe, and attractive environment.

                         

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Supervises employees in daily operations and evaluates performance.Continuously inspects assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance is being performed. Maintains staffing levels, approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests.Ensures cross coverage.Coordinates and provides orientation, education and training.Improves procedures and processes.Analyzes work flow and procedures, recommending change as appropriate.Provides recommendations to improve speed, quality and effectiveness of the department procedures.May be assigned to cover shifts in the event of staffing gaps including vacancies.Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Certifications:

None required.

Complexity of Work:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager, or 1 year of supervisor experience in a related field.Offset: Bachelor’s Degree may substitute the experience requirement.

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.Light Work - Exerting 11 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
