POSITION: Operations Supervisor

SUMMARY:
ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Operations Supervisor at Altria Theater. SMG Richmond manages the Richmond Coliseum, Altria Theater, and Dominion Center. The Operations Supervisor will assist the Operations Manager with the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and events.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs, and coordinates all setup activities and custodial needs consistent with facility wide standards for all musical, entertainment, food & beverage and other events as needed. Assures turnarounds and changeovers are cost effective.
Assists in the coordination of the Operations activities with other departments.
Assists event related contractors to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
Directs and motivates subordinates in a manner conducive to full job performance and high morale
Meets with appropriate staff to outline work that must be done for the day/week.
Prepares work schedules for operations changeover and housekeeping staff while ensuring adequate coverage for department and specific events. Stays within budget guidelines and procedures.
Keeps records and other paperwork in reference to setups and changeovers for operations department
Enforces facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints.
Serves as Operations Manager on Duty (OMOD), as required
Develops and conducts in-service training programs promoting cross-training; demonstrates setup, products, and safety methods and procedures to department employees (i.e., forklift training and safety) with the Human Resources department and Operations Manager.
Oversees the operations and housekeeping staff on a day to day basis.
Ensures that all equipment is maintained correctly and repaired promptly.
Has awareness of time sensitive issues as to what activities should be taking place within a time frame and accomplish necessary tasks to ensure a successful event.
Has knowledge of materials, methods and practices used in operations.
Has knowledge of operation, use and care of equipment and supplies.
Has excellent organizational skills
Orders and inventories janitorial supplies, light bulbs etc.
Communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or G.E.D. required and a minimum of one (1) year experience performing building changeovers in an entertainment facility with a demanding schedule along with one (1) year supervisory experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages subordinate crews in facility changeovers. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
