**Job Summary**
This position supervises the Charge Integrity team daily. It coordinates and administers department personnel policies and procedures. This includes selection, orientation, training, assignment, staffing, evaluation, discipline, and discharge of employees. All actions comply with State and Federal labor laws.
+ Hybrid position
+ Must live in the BSWH Service area (DFW, Central Texas, Greater Austin Region, and College Station)
**Essential Functions of the Role**
+ Supervise daily department activities to ensure efficient operations and timely account processing. Provide expertise, set work quality and volume standards, monitor output, and coach for excellence.
+ Serve as part of the work team, working with those supervised. Assume work queue and edit assignments as necessary. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement plans as needed.
+ Provide information and training to charge review and DNB/claim edit teams. Identify opportunities for staff to develop necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
+ Monitor personnel and keep personal records as per policies. Ensure the department and staff follow all system-wide and department policies.
+ Supervise all charge and edit workflows within the department's scope (e.g., DNB, professional charge review, technical charge review). Identify, examine, and communicate Patient Accounting System work queue trends to management.
+ Identify charging, coding, or clinical documentation issues. Coordinate with Charge Integrity management and ancillary departments to resolve them. Notify appropriate leadership. Interact with ancillary departments to get more information needed to bill accounts based on medical record documentation.
+ Work with next level leadership to implement changes consistent with operational plans.
+ Routinely provide reports on operational metrics and explain variances.
+ Maintain schedules, time off calendars, and payroll. Monitor productivity and work quality. Assist management with staffing needs. Head daily huddles with staff.
+ Performs other position-appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
**Key Success Factors**
+ Technical knowledge of correct coding methods of CPT/HCPCS and modifier selection, as well as UB04 revenue codes.
+ Registration regulatory requirements in the hospital and clinic environments
+ Skills need to include knowledge of hospital operations, hospital department charge capturing, revenue cycle services and CMS regulations
+ Know hospital systems used in revenue cycle functions. This includes registration, charge entry, order entry, ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding systems, billing, and medical terminology.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally; courtesy; initiative; resourcefulness
+ Proficient with MS Office applications.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively with Senior Leadership, clinical Directors, Supervisors, staff, consultants, and third-party payers.
+ 2+ years hospital experience required.
+ Epic EMR proficiency strongly preferred.
+ Associate's degree strongly preferred.
