Supervisor Central Sterile

Reporting to the Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services, this role is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing the technical team that ensures all surgical instruments and equipment are properly processed and ready for patient care across Valleywise Health.
What You’ll Do:
Provide hands-on supervision and support to the sterile processing team to ensure high standards in instrument sterilization and equipment preparation.
Assist the department manager in coordinating day-to-day operations, maintaining smooth workflows, and addressing any service disruptions.
Serve as the go-to resource for departmental issues—available 24/7 to troubleshoot challenges and maintain continuity of care.
Champion quality and safety by ensuring team compliance with departmental protocols, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.
Mentor, coach, and support staff to foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional excellence.

Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 - $35.40 Qualifications Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED. Associate's degree preferred. Experience: Must have a minimum of three (3) years of Central Processing experience. Prefer Central Processing experience in a supervisory capacity. Certification/Licensure: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM or Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from CBSPD is required upon hire. Certification Healthcare Leadership (CHL), Certification in Healthcare Material Management Concepts (CHMMC), Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must have knowledge of regulatory and infection control policies. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions promptly and accurately. Requires the ability to work effectively without close supervision. Requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to work with professionals, and maintain confidentiality standards. Must be dedicated to maximum safety for patients, visitors and employees of the facility. Must have strong computer skills.
