Job Summary and Responsibilities
Has direct responsibility and accountability for clinical supervision of all Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation personnel. Manages and oversees the daily operation of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation unit. Participates in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation procedures and patient care when activity level warrants. Works with the Medical Directors of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation to determine procedures, equipment and quality improvement methods to be used. Maintains high clinical and professional standards of performance and maintains a high level of professional knowledge, skill and expertise in the concepts, principles, and techniques of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. Major responsibilities are listed, however, at times the Rehab Supervisor may be assigned other duties.
As our Supervisor, Cardiopulmonary Services, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care through the cost-effective and efficient management of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient services where applicable.
Every day, you will provide expert care to all areas of the hospital and all patient populations on an independent level when required. You will function as a vital resource for both internal and external customers in all aspects of Cardiopulmonary Care, offering guidance and expertise. Additionally, you will manage the daily operations of the Respiratory Care Department to meticulously ensure compliance with all standards of practice and licensing/regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership and management skills, a deep clinical expertise in cardiopulmonary care, and a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance. Your ability to effectively manage departmental operations, maintain high standards of patient care, serve as an expert resource, and drive cost-effective practices will be essential in optimizing the quality and efficiency of our cardiopulmonary services.
Prepares annual employee appraisals in collaboration with the department manager; maintains performance logs for each employee utilizing the log record according to progressive discipline process and providing positive feedback to employees by written documentation of employee performance.Identifies problems, participates in problem resolution and coordinating evaluation of records; promotes staff participation in QI process; communicates problem resolution, data collection and QI calendar adjustments directly to the department manager on a monthly basis.Actively promotes and organizes staff development, continuing education and cross-training opportunities; Implements and updates the department orientation plans for new employees; Designates unit tasks to be complete each shift;Demonstrates the ability to manage delegated assignments in a timely manner; assists department staff with varying workloads demonstrates a "high degree" of flexibility to departmental, patient care and staffing needs; Organizes time, establishes priorities for self and department; Applies basic knowledge to new and challenging circumstances.Demonstrates technical knowledge and clinical competence with cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation nursing skills and department activities in accordance with approved departmental procedures. Includes, but not limited to clinical skills outlined in the nurse therapist position description.Communicates clearly and concisely verbally and in writing with patients, staff, physicians, department managers, and administrative staff.Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years staff experience in Cardiac and/or Pulmonary RehabilitationRegistered Nurse: CA RN LicenseBasic Life Support - CPR BLS, within 30 Days Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, within 30 Days
