The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Supervisor,  Autoclaves – Processing

 About the role

Reporting to the Process Foreman, the Autoclave Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the autoclave circuit, leading a team of operators to deliver reliable production performance while upholding the highest standards of process safety and environmental compliance. This role requires hands-on autoclave operational experience, a strong understanding of high-pressure process safety, and the ability to drive positive change in work practices, team culture, and plant performance. A key accountability of this role is the development and training of both national and local staff, ensuring the transfer of technical knowledge and building long-term operational capability within the workforce.

In this role, you will:

Lead day-to-day operation of the autoclave and associated circuits to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently. Supervise, coach, and develop autoclave operators, ensuring adherence to safe operating procedures and compliance with permits and regulatory standards. Monitor process conditions, troubleshoot deviations, and coordinate corrective actions to maintain plant stability and product quality. Champion process safety by enforcing critical controls, conducting safety interactions, and fostering a strong safety culture. Drive the structured development and training of national and local staff, ensuring competency growth, knowledge transfer, and career progression opportunities. Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and technical teams to plan and execute shutdowns, inspections, and repairs. Ensure accurate reporting of shift activities, production data, and incidents into plant systems. Contribute to operator training programs, competency assessments, and continuous skills development. Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & procedures. 

About You

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

Proven operational experience in POX autoclave circuits. Demonstrated leadership ability in supervising teams in a processing environment. Strong understanding of process safety principles (e.g., high pressure, high temperature, hazardous materials). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate effectively across teams and disciplines, with a focus on mentoring and capability development. Commitment to fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. High level of initiative with an eagerness to drive positive change and challenge the status quo.
