Join our collaborative team as an Operations Supervisor at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll guide and support teams to achieve excellence in manufacturing and operations. You'll supervise production activities, ensure quality standards, and implement continuous improvement while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements. This role combines effective leadership with operational management to deliver high-quality products that support our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
You'll provide supportive leadership to ensure operational excellence, maintain safety and quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing daily production operations, developing team members, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing processes, and collaborating across functions to achieve business objectives.
A day in the Life:
Lead and facilitate daily Tier meetings with the team to review performance, priorities, and operational needs.Communicate expectations, provide updates, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Address daily scheduling requirements to ensure adequate coverage and alignment with operational demand.Adjust assignments and workflows in real time to maintain productivity and service levels.Oversee material flow throughout the process, ensuring accurate tracking, staging, and availability.Coordinate staging and delivery orders to maintain workflow efficiency and meet production timelines.Manage the un-issuing and transfer process to return materials back to the Distribution Center (DC) as needed.Own the end-to-end returns process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution.Monitor discrepancies and work cross-functionally to maintain data and inventory integrity.Address operational escalations promptly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving issues related to materials, scheduling, or order flow.Education
A four-year, Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Science, Business, or related technical field or equivalent experience.Consideration may be given to those who hold 6+ years of dynamically responsible and relevant work experience without degree.Experience
3+ years of experience in manufacturing operationsPreferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Science, Business, or related technical field2+ years of supervisory or leadership experienceExperience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment preferredStrong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and quality management systemsDemonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesEffective leadership and team development skillsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesClear written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work in various environmental conditions including clean rooms, warehouses, and manufacturing areasKnowledge, Skills, Abilities

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $83,900.00–$125,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
