The ME is responsible for managing the design, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, programming of equipment and products, and recommending capital improvements in our manufacturing, assembly, and test areas\. ME’s are required to have expertise in a wide range of manufacturing technologies including computer and management control systems including project management\._ **_Essential Duties and Responsibilities_** * _Provide manufacturing engineering support to operations including day\-to\-day problem solving and maintenance of all process documentation_ * _CNC machining responsibilities including specifying tooling, overseeing tool design activities related to CNC programming, tool offsets, feeds/speeds, and tool/fixture/gage designs_ * _Implement cost reduction by working closely with engineering, manufacturing and other disciplines to reduce scrap and waste, and evaluate/improve assembly and manufacturing methods_ * _Develop manufacturing routings_ * _Determine equipment needs and create cost justification_ * _Assist in equipment validation_ * _Manage projects_ * _Maintain records and schedules of work assigned_ * _Perform process validation and machine capability studies_ * _Supervise/oversee highly skilled, technical employees_ **Qualifications** **_Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities_** _:_ * _Experienced and educated in the creation of and the ability to read/understand blueprints including a working knowledge of GD&T_ * _Knowledge of Cad Cam for designing, manufacturing, and assembling_ * _Experience in the area of manufacturing operations: milling, turning, grinding, finishing, assembling_ * _Programming knowledge_ * _Good oral and written communication skills_ * _Ability to prioritize and work independently_ * _Knowledge of process improvement methodologies including machine capability and process control_ * _Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies_ **_Qualifications_** _:_ _Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering_ _3\-5 years experience in Manufacturing and Engineering in an assembly/manufacturing environment_ _Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement/lean/capital projects_ _Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills_ _Team player_ **_Additional Competencies Required_** _:_ * _Teamwork approach; ability to resolve conflicts; strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills; ability and willingness to travel as necessary and knowledge of GD&T and Six Sigma methodologies preferred\._ **_How We Care_** At Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful\.
