Position Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the facility, ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning efficiently. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating repairs, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

Please note: this position is expected to work a Friday to Monday schedule.

 

  Key Accountabilities

 

Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of the plant including equipment repairs and installations of all electronic, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment. Working closely with the planner in regard to planning, scheduling Making sure all areas of the plant equipment’s repairs, rebuilds and PM’s are getting completed on nightly basis. Making sure “7 days planning sheet” with all the PM’s are getting completed on daily basis. Promotes safety and a safe work environment for all employees/contractors Responsible for maintenance team hours entry in Kronos, vacation days, sick days, time off and OT environment for all employees/contractors To physically walk the plant on a daily basis and verify completion of work of both our internal team and contactors Ensuring set-up of all machinery in the entire plant is completed on a daily basis on time with no delays Closing work order and PM’s on eMaint and making sure the trades are entering there hours correctly, reading comments and follow up on parts ordering. Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly. Participate in the development of policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures. Troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment, machinery and related facilities. Leads and directs Equipment Criticality Assessments, Critical Spares Analyses, Failure Root Cause Analyses and Preventative Maintenance program improvements Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including recommended purchasing of all maintenance and repair equipment and supplies. To work closely with the Buyer to make sure parts are always available for repairs/rebuilds. Train maintenance staff in confined space entry, all safety equipment and procedures. Respond to and maintain order in emergency situations. Work closely with the departments key stakeholders to understand the complete production/maintenance objectives and deliverables including plant compliance. Communicate regularly on-site with Department Superintendent and their teams on the status of maintenance/project implementation and coordinate activities within to minimize any disruption to operations. Other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

 

Licensed in Electrical or Mechanical Trade or Technical School Graduate Minimum three years’ experience in previous maintenance supervisory role in a Food Industry an asset. Knowledgeable in the maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial food processing equipment. Must have computer skills for entering inventory records, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
