Purpose
The Supervisor, Logistics is accountable for providing leadership to assigned site location(s). This position is responsible for the day to day management of employees, workflow, client service, occupational health and safety, and resources within a single or several assigned sites and is also responsible for ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Through People Leadership and timely Performance Management meet our delivery standards and operational goals within the logistics environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leadership
coaching Manages implementation of workflow changes within the sites (identify, implement and manage change) Accountable for meeting Provincial Key Indicator targets Advisor and member of special project teams and initiatives Implements corporate initiatives (eg. marketing, financial, human resources) Manages corporate and regional initiatives that impact site Manages financial results of the front-end operations: cost management, on budget
Operational Effectiveness
Successfully manages daily operations of sites and functions within their assigned region Ensures alignment with material management objectives Delivery on service and quality standards (TAT, accuracy, documentation, regulatory compliance/audit track record, health and safety, etc.) Business Recovery Plan preparedness of self and team. Implement BRP when required Responsible for regular utilization of logistics reports and determines root cause and implements corrective action Ensures appropriate escalation of issues for resolution Sets departmental SMART goals and works with the team to achieve goals Responsible for the implementation of organizational change initiatives within site Ensure correct application of Collective Agreements, where applicable Participate in meetings with Human Resources and where applicable local Union representatives to investigate grievances and other employee issues. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with local Union representatives, where applicableQuality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
Ensures compliance with Q & RA Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures and practices (i.e. Courier Log Sheet Procedure) Ensures compliance with regulations and external bodies (inspectors, MTO, ICBC etc. Makes recommendations on the development and implementation of process improvements aligned to Lean initiativesEH & S
Performing workplace inspections Conducting information sessions (safety talks, staff meetings) Conducting incident investigations Conducting employee training Correcting substandard acts or conditionsWhat you bring to the role:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience 3 to 5 years Logistics Experience. Operations experience required, health care sector preferred Logistics Lead Experience a definite asset Requires full valid Class G Driver’s license, clean driving abstract
