**104167BR** **Job Title:** Superintendent - Snover, MI **Department/Function:** Operations: Manufacturing, Production, Maintenance, Utilities **Job Description:** **Superintendent - Snover, MI** This is a salaried, exempt-level position. **Position Summary:** The Grain Elevator Superintendent oversees daily operations at the Snover, MI facility, managing all grain handling and storage processes including loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, and storage. This position ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, etc) while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and efficient work environment. The Superintendent leads and trains hourly employees in operations, safety, and facility maintenance, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and manages preventative maintenance and sanitation schedules to support optimal performance and grain quality. **Position Responsibilities:** + Execute plans according to the work schedule + Prioritize shift work and assign resources effectively based on experience, training, and ability + Ensure the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations and demonstrate safety leadership with a goal of zero injuries + Recognize environmental, safety, and GMP hazards and take corrective actions to eliminate risks affecting employee safety, product quality, and environmental integrity + Address employee concerns and maintain strong communication and morale within the department + Work with employees to develop high job proficiency and analyze maintenance performance to improve efficiency + Provide positive reinforcement for safe and productive performance + Maintain discipline and document unusual or unacceptable behaviors + Develop and train hourly employees for skill advancement and operational excellence + Utilize strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical/electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds + Collaborate with facility management to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall effectiveness + Stay current with emerging industry regulations and codes related to system design and operation + Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed in daily activities + Lead and analyze preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs to minimize downtime + Coordinate with the Commercial team on work schedules, maintain documentation, and identify cost-saving opportunities **Position Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree preferred + High School Diploma/GED required with years of on-the-job technical experience + 5+ years of experience leading and developing teams, preferably in grain operations or related industries + Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience + Strong interpersonal, mechanical, electrical, and leadership skills + Experience with Job Hazard Analysis and safety compliance + Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, etc) + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Report writing and documentation skills + Ability to train and mentor others **Position Expectations:** + Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally + Prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, walking, and reaching daily + Full range of physical motion required to operate manual and electrically powered tools and test equipment + Ability to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights + Work performed indoors and outdoors year-round, occasionally in dusty, noisy, or hazardous environments Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
