Superintendent I 

SUMMARY 

BLUvera is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent I with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.  Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively solve problems and bring together viable solutions. The Superintendent will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline. Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.

This position is based on a project site in either Monroe, Louisianna or Albuquerque, New Mexico and requires relocation to the project(s). The candidate will have excellent proven leadership skills that can manage a manufacturing plant within the construction industry.  Must be able to work on schedules, managing trade partners, hiring craft laborers, material handling, and have been a builder.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project scheduleReview construction and contract documents for completeness and constructabilityCoordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepanciesDevelop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedulesDevelop a site logistics planManage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipmentCollaborate with project partner superintendentsConduct on-site project orientations and effective pre-construction planning sessions and site meetingsSupervise project partners, craft foremen, and crewsMentor, manage, and evaluate Assistant Superintendents, General Foremen, and ForemenInterview, hire, transfer, and, if needed, terminate craft team membersEnsure proper task coding of work hours on timecardsManage and track work progress and craft productivityEnsure craft team member training is current prior to starting tasksConduct career development discussions with foremen and craft team membersProvide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team membersRecognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditionsIdentify opportunities to improve processes and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience Minimum eight years construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experienceProven ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projectsDetail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasksPossess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesMicrosoft Office skills at an intermediate levelProven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesCurrent driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is $108,600 - $162,900. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
