As an industry leader, we have built our reputation as a premier provider of services with a solid track record of performance, integrity and – above all – a commitment to safety, quality and our people. **Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Underground Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of civil construction projects, including multiple-circuit duct bank work in large urban environments. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality, ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Leadership & Supervision:** Lead and supervise a team of foremen and craft professionals. Ensure all personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively and safely. + **Project Management:** Collaborate with operations leadership to plan and organize activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating resources. Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet project deadlines and budget goals. + **Site Oversight:** Be the primary point of contact on-site for the project, ensuring that all activities align with project scope, specifications, and safety standards. Visit project sites to assess conditions and resolve any issues. + **Safety Compliance:** Implement site-specific health and safety plans and ensure adherence to company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements. Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all safety protocols are followed. + **Communication & Coordination:** Act as the liaison between owners, general contractors, subcontractors and vendors. Represent the company in project meetings, strategy discussions, and client interactions. Resolve work-related problems and ensure effective communication at all levels. + **Quality Control & Reporting:** Oversee the implementation of quality control programs and ensure that work meets the required standards. Prepare regular reports on project progress, costs, and scheduling. + **Subcontractor & Vendor Management:** Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ensure that all vendor and subcontractor payments are reviewed and processed in a timely manner. + **Risk Management & Problem Solving:** Identify potential risks to project timelines, budgets, and quality, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Address any issues related to construction methods, work procedures, or site conditions. + **Documentation & Scheduling:** Maintain accurate project records, including daily progress, change orders and all other documentation. Ensure that all project-related documents are up-to-date and easily accessible. **Preferred Skills & Qualifications:** + **Experience:** Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant civil construction experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role. Extensive experience in civil duct bank work and underground utility installation. + **Technical Knowledge:** Strong technical understanding of underground utilities, site grading, earthworks, and construction methods. Familiarity with industry standards and codes. + **Software Skills:** Proficiency in construction software (e.g., HCSS, GPS equipment) and standard office applications (Word, Excel, etc.). + **Leadership Skills:** Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team. Strong management skills with an ability to solve problems and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. + **Communication:** Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present plans and updates to internal and external stakeholders. + **Safety & Compliance:** In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
