**Job Description** BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated and driven software engineering intern to join our summer internship program for 2026. As a Software Engineer Technical Intern, you will join a team of engineers supporting software development opportunities that provide value to our customers and solve real world problems. Your contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring our partner s mission accomplishment and support the defense of our nation. The qualified candidate will design, develop, test and document Windows-based applications for various aircraft test and support equipment items. The qualified candidate will contribute to the development of instrument drivers, evaluation algorithms, Graphical User Interfaces, and self-test software. The qualified candidate will also interface with Systems and Hardware Engineering. A desire to work with hardware and knowledge of basic electrical hardware design is a plus. The qualified candidate will be involved in all phases of software development lifecycle including requirements definition, design, code, integration, and test. BAE Systems works with state-of-the-art technologies that will expand your software toolbox in a real-world Software Engineering environment. Your internship may include the opportunity to work with new client-based frameworks. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
