Job Description

As a SUE Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the SUE Analyst with the operation of a SUE field crew. Your work will focus on ensuring the quality of operations, including accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for maintaining public relations, ensuring safety, adhering to schedules and budgets, and providing responsive service to clients. This position requires you to operate equipment, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain equipment and vehicles, and accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.

ResponsibilitiesAssist the SUE Analyst in the operation of the SUE field crew.Ensure quality of work including accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity.Meet regulatory requirements and maintain public relations.Ensure safety and meet schedules and budgets.Provide responsive service to clients.Operate equipment and maintain a safe work environment.Protect and maintain equipment and vehicles.Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.Perform basic survey operations alongside SUE tasks.Travel overnight as required.Essential SkillsExperience with utility locating and instrument operation.Proficiency in subsurface utility engineering.Ability to operate ground penetrating radar and mapping equipment.Skill in using electromagnetic and vacuum excavation equipment.Experience with survey equipment such as total stations and GPS.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in SUE field operations.Proficiency with hydrographic equipment.Previous experience with USIC or similar organizations.Experience in land surveying operations.Work Environment

This role demands extensive outdoor work, involving walking through various terrains in extreme weather conditions throughout the year. You will spend 100% of your time in the field, traveling to job sites across the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, and other locations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $12.00 - $20.00/hr.
