Job Summary Job SummaryJSerra Catholic High School is looking for an enthusiastic and capable Mandarin Chinese language teacher to teach Mandarin Chinese courses within our World Language Department. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly proficient and bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese and have prior teaching experience. Qualified candidates should enjoy and be comfortable working with high school aged students and their families. Applicants should have the ability to participate in shared decision-making in a team environment, have excellent oral and written communication skills and be proficient in using and leveraging technology. Experienced High School teachers are strongly preferred. Special Qualities & Characteristics • Passionate for the mission of JSerra (i.e. the integral formation of students’ faith, intellect, and character) • Deep appreciation for the Catholic faith and a commitment to the teachings of the Church • Strong initiative and desire to work in a highly collaborative environment • Superior rapport with parents, students, and staff Responsibilities • Planning, preparing, and delivering Mandarin Chinese language content to high school students at various grade levels • Assigning work, correcting and grading work submitted by his/her students • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment, and behavior of students • Providing oral or written assessments related to individual students • Communicating, consulting and cooperating with other members of the school staff • Advising and cooperating with the Principal, Vice Principal of Academics, and Director of Curriculum, as well as other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programs, and methods of teaching and assessment • Participating in PLC (Professional Learning Communities) and all school In-Service education and training courses and meetings with school staff • Supervise students outsid
