**Overview** Our Orlando, Florida (FL) office is looking for a Substation Physical Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Power Delivery team! **Responsibilities** + Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the design and preparation of the following substation drawings: + Substation one-lines and three-lines + Station general arrangements and sections + Electrical details + Grounding plan and details + Conduit plan and details + Control cubicle layout, sections, cable tray, lighting, and grounding + Low-voltage AC panels + Grounding + Lightning protection + Illumination + Development of bills of materials and general arrangements from substation one-line diagrams + Coordination with protection and controls, civil/structural, and drafting disciplines to ensure quality deliverables + Participation in client meetings and site visits for data gathering, as required + Interpretation and incorporation of vendor information into design deliverables + Application of client standards related to the work + Performing and ensuring the company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are followed for all design packages + Continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance **Qualifications** + 8+ years of relevant experience in Substation Physical design + High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred) + Knowledge of substation design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical drawings and models + Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products + Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn + Ability to work independently and with a team + Willingness to mentor and teach others + Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter **Why Kimley-Horn?** At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
