We are in search of a **Lead Substation Engineer** to join our diverse and fast-paced Chicago, IL organization. As a core team member, you will be interacting with various electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in leading and designing high voltage utility substation projects. **Hybrid Schedule: for the Chicago, IL team (2-4 days week in office)**

**In this role, you can also expect to gain experience in the following:**

**The Challenge:**
+ Lead conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation design for medium to large scale utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
+ Take complete ownership of each project, including management of technical design, staffing, schedule, and budget.
+ Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives.
+ Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
+ Develop and review project proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates.
+ Perform Quality Control reviews on medium to large substation projects
+ Continually improve and maximize team quality and efficiency.
**What Sets You Apart:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree
+ Eight (8+) plus years of direct experience in substation design
**You Might Also have:**
+ Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license
+ Master’s degree in related field
+ Experience leading a project team

**Pay Range:**
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
