Substation Engineer
Job Title: Substation Project EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Substation Project Engineer. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring that these are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing and delivering both physical and protection and control substation designs, preparing electrical calculations, and coordinating design activities across multiple departments. Responsibilities + Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring that schedules and budgets are met. + Develop and deliver physical substation designs, including yard layouts, plans, sections, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and power systems. + Develop and deliver protection and control designs, including panel arrangements, AC/DC schematics, and equipment wiring. + Prepare electrical calculations for studies and reports, such as grounding and lighting protection. + Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing. + Coordinate design activities with departments like Civil/Structural and Transmission Line. + Communicate and coordinate project activities with managers, clients, and other stakeholders. + Work independently and supervise, mentor, or train less-experienced Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and Designers. + Conduct quality assurance and quality control on the work of other engineers and technicians. + Perform other duties as needed. Essential Skills + Expertise in substation design and engineering. + Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, PLS CAD, AutoPipe, and Revit. + Electrical engineering knowledge with a focus on power delivery and protection & control. + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. + A minimum of 3 years experience in project execution in the Power Delivery, Substation Sector. + Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with an engineering consulting firm. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design software used in the Power Market Sector. + A commitment to participating actively in an employee-owned culture. Work Environment This role involves working within a collaborative environment that focuses on power market sector design. It requires proficiency in various design software and close coordination with multiple departments to ensure seamless project execution. The work environment encourages independent work and offers opportunities for mentoring and supervising others. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
