**Your role and responsibilities**
The AEDC Storage Administrator will manage and maintain a mixed storage environment consisting of network-attached storage (NAS), fiber channel (FC) storage, and FC switches. This role requires expertise in designing, configuring, securing, and supporting enterprise-level storage systems while ensuring high availability and performance. The candidate will work closely with customers accessing ALTESS storage services and follow ITIL best practices for change management.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support ALTESS storage services in a mixed NAS and FC environment.
* Design and configure new and existing installations, ensuring security and reliability of enterprise storage systems.
* Proactively monitor storage systems, generate utilization reports, and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Troubleshoot performance issues on FC networks and NAS storage systems, applying short-term fixes and long-term solutions.
* Refresh data between environments at the request of application or service owners.
* Develop documentation and SOPs for repeatable installation and setup processes, including rationale for design decisions.
* Create and publish team-approved storage standards and policies.
* Follow ITIL best practices for Change Management.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* A minimum of 5 years of Storage Administration experience with enterprise-level IT environments
* A minimum of 2 years of experience with Network Attached Storage Administration
* A minimum of 2 years of experience with Block Storage and FC Network Administration
* A minimum of 2 years of experience with Linux and Windows Server 2019/2022 (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting)
* Experience with scripting (PowerShell 2.0 or higher, bash, simple scripting) and strong CLI skills; ability to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and work during mission-critical situations; must be able to be onsite for physical tasks and team/leadership meetings
* Must hold and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Readiness Review (SRR) scripts, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
* Experience with FC storage
* Experience with network attached storage
* Experience with FC, CIFS, NFS and iSCSI storage protocols
* Experience with block-based replication
