Siemens Mobility (SMO), develops state of the art products for end-to-end management of railways network across the world. At Foundational Technologies (FT) we work with the R&D and ADC (Application Development Centres) organizations of Siemens Mobility, to develop products for train control, train operations, diagnostic and configuration tools, IoT solutions and digital solutions.
As Sub Segment Head for FT India Mobility, you will be responsible for creating, aligning, and implementing a forward looking sub-segment strategy which aligns with the overall segment strategy and also with global product portfolio owners and coordinate and control product development and product related services for the respective partners in Siemens globally.
You will be the key collaborate with the Global partners, to enable global product and application development and related services. You will be responsible for development of leaders within your sub-segment including but not limited to Development and Testing leaders, Portfolio owners, Project managers, Key domain guides. You will also be responsible for driving innovation within the product values streams. Your focus area will also include improving productivity, agility and quality of the product development lifecycle.
This position is available for Pune Location.
YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY:- Leading proficient large teams of 100-200 people and enable them to deliver the products and projects in the area of Rail Infrastructure with high quality and within timelines and budgets.
- Ensuring people excellence by being a leader who sets vision, has clear strategy to implement the vision and works with the team to deliver the outcomes. Strategic workforce planning, performance management of teams to enable a premier people experience.
- Developing and optimizing suitable processes based on process frameworks used by partners (like GUIDE) and overall FT D IN processes and structures that will enable quality deliveries.
- Acquiring new business and projects related to global R&D and ADC business as well as local market and expanding the collaboration and partnership with the Operating Companies and other relevant partners.
- Driving operational excellence and financial subject area in your sub-segment. You will be responsible for budgeting and business planning at sub-segment level.
- Acting as the manager for the program managers / Teams Leads and control Country specific sub-segment goals while providing focus and orientation for local strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with (local) legal provisions and Siemens in-house rules and regulations.
- Encouraging innovation and developing new products and solutions in your sub-segment.
YOU’LL WIN US OVER BY:- Having Experience in large scale research and development processes especially with focus on software development, testing and implementation of strategies with overall 15+ years of professional experience.
- Having Engineering Graduate / Post Graduate (preferably a major in Computer Science / Electronics) with minimum 5 years of leadership experience- in leading multiple product development teams.
- Your expertise in leading and advising product development and guiding expert functions like Software Development / Architecture / Testing will make valuable contributions to the team.
- Risk management expertise in identifying, planning and controlling risk by means of prevention, mitigations and contingencies.
- Quality management knowledge and application of quality principles
- Proven experience of Rail Automation will be an added advantage.
- Driving Software Excellence in the areas of Innovation, Quality and End-to-End ownership
- Ensure attracting and recruiting of talents, professional competency, and career development of employees to retain talents on a long-term perspective
- Plan and supervise the running of business operations to ensure delivery excellence and operate from planned costs perspective
