Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock is adding a Production Supervisor role to lead our Sub-Assembly production line in our new facility in Lexington, NC. In this exciting role your primary responsibility will be to drive the production team in continuous improvement of safety, quality, schedule, and budget. This role will encompass the use of Lean Manufacturing principles both on the production floor and during the production planning phases. You will lead the team in technical problem solving for topics including standard and non-standard work, tooling, material flow, safety, engineering drawings and BOMs, and process improvements.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Use PTC Creo to understand manufacturing process requirements such as job sequencing, workflow, and takt time Define key production work steps, sequences, and durations; set up work scope by station or cell Generate and improve material flow paths and logistical needs for each production work order, both in the MRP system and on the production floor (material handling) Prepare future production floor layouts to meet planned takt time and production schedules Develop standardized work instructions Set up stations with appropriate fixtures, templates (e.g., drilling, small components, mounting), tooling, and equipment Provide critical process control guidance to production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve dimensional accuracy and overall product quality Coordinate and present technical information across all levels of the organization, including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers

What you will need to be successful:

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (Or Equivalent Experience) 5+ years experience in a Manufacturing Environment 2+ years previous leadership experience within manufacturing or production required Firm project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines / schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, etc. Practical knowledge and experience in the implementation of the lean toolbox. A history of “hands-on” approach to problem solving and countermeasure implementation within own areas of responsibility. Experience using different types of bills of materials between engineering and production.

We would be impressed if you had:

5+ years of experience planning and supporting the launch of new production lines in low-speed production environments (e.g., rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, heavy equipment) Work experience in the rail industry, preferably in light rail, heavy rail, or related production Knowledge of SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems Certification or equivalent coursework in fields such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Certification, OSHA Safety, Certified Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Management, EIT, or Professional Engineering License Practical experience in customer service, maintenance, or aftermarket technologies within the rail industry Experience using and implementing lean methods and tools such as 5S, 7 Types of Waste (Muda), root cause analysis and corrective actions, Yamazumi methods, Kanban, value stream mapping, process flow diagrams, ABC-XYZ analysis, and lean shop floor management models Experience developing technology roadmaps for a range of automation solutions

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 5% of the base salary.

The pay range for this position is $89,300 - $105,000 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
