Student Program Contract and Legal Consultant

**Job Description:**
The Student Programs Contract and Legal Consultant reports to the Talent Development Partnerships Manager and manages a portfolio of tasks related to all contracts and legal requirements associated with student programs and other training activities, including students, faculty, residents, and licensed professional trainees who enter any facility within our Peaks Region. This role ensures that all compliance standards are met and maintained, supporting the smooth and lawful operation of our student programs.
**Department of Education and Department of Labor legal and compliance experience are HIGHLY preferred.**
**Essential Functions**
Under the direction of the Talent Development and Partnerships Manger and legal counsel, writes, negotiates, and manages contracts related to educational opportunities, including student internships, residency programs and licensed professional training for the Intermountain Peaks Region.
• Collaborates with internal and external partners and consults on all compliance related issues and Intermountain policies (e.g., Intermountain Finance for remuneration requirements; internal and external legal counsel for state regulations).
• Demonstrates subject matter expertise and stays aware of Department of Labor requirements, ACGME, Joint Commission (TJC) and other applicable accreditation, and specific state regulations within the Intermountain Peaks Region related to training and education activities.
• Provides guidance to the regional team relative to contract negotiations and regulations pertaining to their respective scope of practice.
• Monitors and tracks Joint Commission requirements and collaborates with others to ensure compliance.

**Minimum Qualifications**
**• Demonstrated experience in compliance, contract management, or related role.**
**• Knowledge of and experience with regulatory compliance standards for healthcare workers**
**• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities**
**• Experience working with academic institutions**
**• Excellent written and verbal communication skills**
Preferred Qualifications
• Three years of experience in compliance, contract management, or related role, in a healthcare setting
• Experience managing student programs
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
