Student Nurse Apprentice Job Summary: The Student Nurse Apprentice (SNA) serves as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, observing and collaborating with the Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The SNA is supervised for the management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures. The SNA will document and provide assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Current student accredited nursing program, required. Licensure/Certification: Completion Novant Health sponsored training program, required. Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required. Completion of Novant Health Safety Attendant Training, required. Additional Skills (Preferred): Basic computer skills for documentation. Upon completion of the Novant Health sponsored training program, the SNA I works within the guidelines of nursing and Novant Health policies and procedures. Must exhibit strong communication skills; ability to write effectively; effective computer skills, and strong customer service skills. Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) and Safety Attendant duties may be assigned as determined by unit leaders and unit needs. If needed in the MUR role, the SNA I must be able to perform the MUR skills as indicated in the MUR job description. If needed in the Safety attendant role, the SNA I must complete appropriate training and be able to perform the Safety Attendant skills as indicated in the Safety Attendant job description.
