About the Role
The Data & Analytics Intern will support analytics initiatives across the Program Measurement and Strategy team and the broader Communications, Marketing, Government and Community Affairs (CMGCA) department by helping turn data into meaningful insights. This internship is designed for undergraduate students seeking hands-on experience working with real business data, modern analytics tools, and collaborative teams. Interns will contribute to active analytics projects that inform decision-making while building foundational skills in data analysis, visualization, and storytelling. This role offers meaningful exposure to enterprise analytics workflows in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Assist with data analysis and reporting to support marketing, digital, and operational initiativesHelp prepare, clean, and validate datasets from multiple sourcesBuild and maintain analytics-ready tables and views using SQL and/or PythonSupport the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau)Conduct ad-hoc analyses to answer business questions and identify trendsDocument data definitions, assumptions, and analytical approachesCollaborate with analytics team members on ongoing projects and initiativesParticipate in team meetings, project reviews, and learning sessionsPresent project outcomes or insights at the conclusion of the internshipPotential Projects & Learning Opportunities

Interns will work on a mix of structured projects and exploratory analyses, which may include:

Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) SupportPrepare aggregated datasets used in Marketing Mix ModelsAssist with analyzing how different marketing channels contribute to outcomes such as appointments or conversionsLearn how analytics teams measure marketing impact at an enterprise levelDatabricks AnalyticsBuild and update datasets in Databricks using SQL (with some Python exposure)Learn how raw data is transformed into trusted analytics tablesGain experience working in a modern cloud-based analytics environmentTableau Data Sources & DashboardsCreate and maintain Tableau data sources connected to DatabricksHelp define metrics and calculations used in dashboardsSupport dashboard updates and performance improvementsAnalytics & Data StorytellingAnalyze trends and summarize findings in clear, visual formatsPresent insights to analytics team members and project stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field
Basic experience with SQL (through coursework or projects)
Interest in data analysis, visualization, and problem-solving
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Ability to communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Tableau or another data visualization tool
Exposure to Python or R through coursework or personal projects
Experience working with large datasets
Interest in marketing analytics, digital analytics, or applied statistics

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $17.00-17.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
