Key Responsibilities:
1. Self-Motivation and Leadership:
Work independently with minimal guidance.Solve complex problems and identify solutions to prevent future occurrences.Lead projects or project steps within a larger project.Provide problem-solving expertise and complex analysis to develop quality integration and solution design.Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in Higher Education Student Systems – such as monitoring and participating in the HEUG list server.Develop expertise in at least one SIS module.2. Teamwork:
Work together with SIS technical and functional team members in assessing, analyzing and testing functionality.Mentor junior team members to help foster a culture of continuous improvement and development.Crosstrain with fellow team members to ensure backups exist for key processes.3. Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with and foster strong relationships with various university departments, including IT (Information Technology), security, and academic units, to understand and address their needs.Communicate complex technical concepts and questions to non-technical stakeholders clearly, effectively and professionally.4. Policy and Compliance:
Ensure work items follow the coding and documentation standards adopted by the SIS team.Adhere to the change management processes to ensure compliance with university regulations.5. Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, working with them on implementations, issue resolution and enhancement requests.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent combination of experience, education and/or certifications may be substituted in lieu of degree.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in IT required, with at least 5 years working with the PeopleSoft ERP system.Proven experience in technical design, development, and maintenance of a PeopleSoft ERP system in a complex organization.Skills:
In-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft concepts, technologies (Application Designer, PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, Integration Broker), and best practices.Superb analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong foundation in SQL.Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, engineering instrumentation & control, or other related major.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT focused on a Student ERP system.Knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, HighPoint Campus Experience and PHIRE..Familiarity with other enterprise systems (Workday, ServiceNow, Canvas, Salesforce, Boomi, Slate)Experience in a higher education environment.Experience working with APIs and toolsets such as Postman and SoapU.About the Position

This position is primarily sedentary, involving extensive use of desktop computers.
