13532BRJob Description:The Internal Communications Intern will support U. S. Steel’s Corporate Communications team with the execution of internal communications strategies to enhance U. S. Steel’s corporate reputation, build trust among various employee groups, and foster the best possible employee experience. This is a remote position that will provide support for a wide array of employee engagement activities. Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to: + Distribute Enterprise Communications: Send and publish enterprise communications via digital channels. + Create Weekly Newsletters: Develop and distribute the weekly digital newsletter to keep employees informed and engaged. + Maintain Email Distribution Lists: Ensure email distribution lists are up-to-date and accurate. + Design Graphics: Create graphics using Canva to support various initiatives. + Draft Engaging Content: Write content that drives values-based storytelling and enhances employee engagement. + Support Strategic Storytelling: Develop content to support storytelling around key initiatives. + Layout Employee Newsletter: Design and layout bi-monthly employee newsletter. + Manage Engagement Campaigns: Oversee engagement campaigns on internal employee platform to boost employee participation. Pull metrics to measure campaign engagement level. + Organize Internal Trackers: Provide support in keeping internal trackers and shared files organized and up-to-date. Skills: + Motivated self-starter with strong organizational and research skills. + Ability to work independently to accomplish tasks. + Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work. + Sound judgment and attention to detail. + Ability to craft clear and concise messages for various audiences. + Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. + Comfortable asking questions to ensure understanding and improve processes. Qualifications: + Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism, public affairs, communications, marketing or related field. + Applicants must provide writing samples. + Candidates must be a current student and in their junior year of a bachelor’s degree and be in good academic standing. + Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. + Available to work remotely for a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 20 hours during spring semester, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. + Be highly familiar with Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. + Working knowledge of Canva a plus but not required. Other Details: $20-$21/hour. This pay rate is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
