Position Summary: The Student Development Coordinator at Samueli Academy plays a key leadership role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. Working closely with the school leadership team, this position oversees student behavior systems, implements restorative practices, supports social-emotional learning, and ensures consistent application of the student code of conduct across grades 7–12 Major Areas of Responsibility: 1) Under the direction of the Head of School, the Student Development Coordinator will support a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment for students in grades 7–12 by overseeing: 2) Student discipline systems, including restorative practices and behavior interventions Campus safety protocols, emergency procedures, and daily supervision coverage 3) A team of campus monitors, including training, scheduling, and performance oversight 4) Attendance and truancy interventions, including early outreach 5) Coordination and supervision of AP testing logistics and compliance Communication and collaboration with staff, families, and community partners to support student well-being and maintain a positive school climate 6) Coordination of after-school tutoring program Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
Requirements / QualificationsKnowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements: 1) Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching or student support roles; a valid California single-subject teaching credential is strongly preferred 2) Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required 3) Strong understanding of school discipline systems, restorative practices, truancy intervention, and campus safety 4) Experience leading or coordinating the work of small teams or supervision of staff 5) High level of organization, follow-through, and attention to detail 6) High attention to detail, timelines, and relationship management. 7) Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance. 8) Pre-employment screenings include criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, drug screen, and previous employment verification.
