Student Care Extender

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Student Care Extender, a student actively pursuing a relevant professional program, you will perform essential support duties for a selected patient population under the direct supervision of a qualified professional.

Every day, you will contribute directly to patient care within established guidelines, demonstrating behavior consistent with our core values and actively supporting the organization's mission and strategic objectives, including its quality and process improvement activities.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a foundational understanding of care principles, a strong commitment to learning, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Performs direct patient care activities for specific patient population according to established policies and procedures; adapts techniques to unique needs of each patient this includes, but not limited to in accordance with medical orders, activities of daily living, ambulating, turn/positioning, eating, bathing, etc..Promptly and courteously responds to patient requests for assistance whether that of assigned patient or not, assesses patient needs, and checks with patient regularly.Follows up on patient care responsibilities and assignments left from previous shift and reports to assigned registered nurse any incomplete assignments to ensure continuity of careConsistently demonstrates an ability to set appropriate priorities in providing safe patient care; functions in an organized and time-conscious manner.Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned; regularly helps others such as answering calls lights and rounding. .Consistently records and/or reports to the Team Leader or Charge Nurse any treatment results, observations, patient complaints, and other pertinent information regarding the condition of patients.
Job Requirements

Required

High School GraduateEnrollment in an accredited board certified registered nursing program working towards obtaining direct patient clinical experienceBasic Life Support - CPRFire Safety, within 90 Days


Preferred

Completion of at least three semesters of RN program (without RN license).Where You'll Work
