**POSITION DETAILS**
The Department of Athletics and Recreation aims to educate and develop individual student athletes and participants by providing opportunities to participate in competitive intercollegiate athletics or intramural/recreational sport programs.
The Department is committed to supporting student athletes in their attainment of a high level of achievement in academics as well as competitive athletic programs. The Department teaches the tenets of leadership, sportsmanship and teamwork through sports to a diverse community within and beyond Hostos Community College.

Hostos Community College seeks a Student Athletics Program Specialist. Reporting directly to the Athletic Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Assist with management of coaching staff
• Assists with the submission of NJCAA eligibility roster for all student-athletes and monitor changes.
• Adheres to NJCAA, Region XV, CUNYAC and College rules and regulations.
• Provides workshops on eligibility requirements to coaches, student athletes and others.
• Coordinates daily recreational activities in the gym, weight room, aerobics room, pool and dance studio.
• Assists with the hiring, training of student workers and college assistants.
• Assists with recruitment and enrollment by working in collaboration with internal and external entities.
• Assists with interventions for at-risk student athletes by referring them to tutoring, and ensuring all their documents are complete for submission to the Student Life Office.
• Assists with oversight of all varsity sports.
• Acts as site supervisor and liaison for external rentals.
• Assist with oversight of aquatics program and oversight of pool.
• Serve as liaison for student-athletes through the college onboarding process.
• Oversee Intramurals program with activities.
• Assist with game day supervision including set up, staffing and breakdown for athletic events.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
+ Knowledge of NCAA Division, I, II & III and NAIA requirements
+ Availability to work evening and weekend hours
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Administers one or more aspects of a College athletics program.
- Coordinates development and implementation of information and marketing materials, such as web sites
- Coordinates recreation and intramural programs in support of wellness activities
- Organizes, coordinates, and manages intramural and varsity sports events
- Compiles and reports on statistics for NCAA and CUNY requirements; compiles reports on programs and activities
- Coordinates scheduling of facilities and programs
- Assists management with planning and oversight of various athletics activities
- Performs related duties as assigned.
