**Student Assistant, Software Developer for Research Informatics**

Join our Research Informatics team and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
**Your new role**
As a Student Assistant in the Research Informatics team, you’ll play a key part in enhancing the software platform that supports over scientists worldwide in developing life-changing medicines.
Your primary tasks will include:
+ **Python Development** : Maintain and improve our core Python codebase by refactoring, streamlining existing code, and simplifying logic to improve maintainability and reliability.
+ **Diagnostics** : Enhance observability by introducing structured logging and better exception handling, enabling clearer diagnostics and easier debugging.
+ **Version Control** : Use Git and GitHub to manage version control, following established workflows for branching, submitting pull requests, and collaborating with the team on code reviews.
+ **Service Support** : Assist with containerized services and contribute to improving observability for smoother operations.
We’ll work around your study schedule and ensure you gain valuable experience as part of our team.
**Your future team**
Research Informatics is a small, welcoming team of six specialists within Lundbeck’s Research organization. We’re dedicated to developing, implementing, and maintaining informatics applications that support research activities.
You’ll collaborate closely with experienced Informatics Specialists who will guide you and share their expertise in informatics and software development.

The position is based in Lundbeck headquarters in Valby, Denmark.
**What you bring to the team**
You’re structured, have an analytical mindset and are eager to learn. You enjoy both diving into detail and seeing the big picture.
You must have:
+ At least two years of study completed in a scientific or technical program.
+ Python Skills: Solid experience in writing, reading, and refactoring Python code.
+ Learning Mindset: Openness to feedback, a willingness to ask questions, and enthusiasm for growth.
Bonus Skills (Not Required):
+ Familiarity with Python logging and testing frameworks like pytest.
+ Working acquaintance with Git and GitHub Workflow, possibly also GitHub Action.
+ Basic experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
+ Comfort with Linux and Bash systems.
