Student Assistant, Engineering Graduate Student Ambassador

The College of Engineering is seeking two Student Assistants to fill the positions of Engineering Graduate Student Ambassadors.  The primary goal of this position is to act as a representative of the College of Engineering graduate programming and to support graduate recruitment activities.  The position will also promote community building within the College of Engineering graduate student body.  These positions will work closely with College of Engineering staff, faculty, students and external stakeholders.

In the appointment of Graduate Student Assistant, the Graduate Student Ambassador’s key responsibilities are:

To act as a resource for individuals interested in the College of Engineering graduate programs, including providing guidance and sharing personal insights Participate in drafting informative materials, such as marketing content, posters and testimonials showcasing the experiences and accomplishments of Engineering graduate students Promote the Engineering graduate program via classroom presentations (PowerPoint Slides provided), student groups and campus events Participate in information sessions, recruitment fairs and other events to share personal experiences, answer questions about the engineering graduate program and your research, or other research areas Uphold professionalism in all interactions and positively represent the College of Engineering Support initiatives that foster graduate student community building, including collaborating with the Engineering Graduate Community Council (EGCC) Contribute ideas and provide feedback to enhance graduate recruitment and other programming.

Your general location of work will be at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Campus and you will report to the Manager of Clerical Student Support, College of Engineering.

Required Number of Hours: approximately 40 hours during the academic year.
Duration of Employment: September 2025 to May 2026 inclusive.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations Excellent organizational and presentation skills Demonstrate a passion for College of Engineering’s graduate programs and enhancing community engagement Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive campus environment Experience in event planning, facilitation, or peer mentorship is an asset Previous leadership, volunteerism, or relevant extracurricular experience is an asset You must be registered in a College of Engineering graduate program Preference will be given to those who have been registered in the College of Engineering for a minimum of one year
