Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Boston, MA.

Job Details:

Work on the structural design of buildings and structures for a variety of clients.Serve as a senior technical resource and advisor, providing specialized input to design teams and mentoring entry-level engineers.Lead and independently complete all tasks necessary for the primary design elements of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with codes and standards.Develop and implement study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work across teams.Prepare and review technical specifications, design calculations, and construction documents with a focus on accuracy and quality control.Perform interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and coordinate design and construction issues across disciplines.Conduct site visits to observe construction activities, address field questions, and ensure alignment with design intent.Estimate construction costs and technical effort required and contribute to the development of engineering budgets and schedules.Plan and organize work according to defined processes, delivering complete and coordinated design packages within budget and time constraints.Lead QA/QC efforts by reviewing structural design documents and supporting department efforts to maintain up-to-date standards and codes.Up to 10% domestic travel required.Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.Full-time.

 

QualificationsCandidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, Project Manager for structural projects, or a related occupation.Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Professional Engineer LicenseExperience managing building structural projects with various materials, including steel, concrete, composite, masonry, timber, and modularExperience with structural codes including ASCE 7-10, 7-16, ACI 318-14, AISC 13-15 Ed's, AASHTO LRFD, IBC 2015, AWC NDS 2015, PCI 2010, and TMS 402/602ETABS, SAFE, SAP 2000, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RISA, and STAADPro Structure PointCASTMathcad and MatlabAutoCADRevitMS ExcelTableauPower BIR Studio
