Structural Project Engineer (PE) – Leads civil and structural design for heavy industrial projects with a focus on phosphate and process-industry facilities.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional Structural Engineering (SE/PE) license in at least one state, preferably Florida.
NCEES credentials enabling licensure reciprocity in additional states.
Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience.
Experience in phosphate, chemical, petrochemical, refinery, and/or process industry projects.
Experience with heavy industrial structures such as tank farms, duct racks, pipe racks, and related infrastructure.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary project environment (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process).
Ability to manage engineering staff or task leads to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
Preferred Skills:
Significant project experience specifically in phosphate facilities (targeting 50–60% or more of project portfolio).
Experience on large capital or brownfield industrial projects involving complex structural scopes.
Experience with structural design codes relevant to industrial facilities (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE, API for tanks, etc.).
Experience with structural analysis and design software used on industrial projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan, evaluate, and design civil and structural systems for heavy industrial projects, with emphasis on phosphate and related process facilities.
Lead and organize complex engineering activities for design, development, implementation, and execution of structural engineering projects.
Assemble and coordinate project structural teams, assigning work and monitoring deliverables.
Develop man-hour budgets for all structural engineering tasks based on required deliverables and schedule.
Establish and maintain clear understanding of project requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule for structural work.
Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and other technical deliverables.
Coordinate structural design with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, process, piping) to ensure integrated solutions.
Oversee structural design for tank farms, duct racks, equipment foundations, and other heavy industrial structures.
Monitor progress against budgets and schedules, adjusting work plans and resources as needed to meet project objectives.
Pay Details: $60.00 to $68.00 per hour
