Structural Engineer

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a Structural Engineer for a 12 month contract. In this role as Structural Engineer, you will support the structural design for the Sentinel Project. This will entail originating structural calculations, specifications, material requisitions, and technical studies or reports. Additionally, checking of design drawings and review and coordination of vendor information. Work with other Structural engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment.
This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization. Our client is targeting a base rate of $65.00/hour for this role.
Qualification Requirements US Citizenship Must be able to obtain a DOD Security Clearance Requires a bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience Master’s degree in Structural or related Engineering discipline from an accredited university (Preferred) Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering) (Preferred) Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T. or equivalent) Experience with Microsoft office programs, and other common computer programs Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Working knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, IBC and ASCE 7 Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles. Previous experience using structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or STAAD.Pro Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense (Preferred)
Major Responsibilities Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering Originates structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions Prepares specifications and related documents Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Structural related matters Reviews structural drawings and design details Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines Assists in preparation of quantity takeoffs. Assists in constructability reviews
