Chenega Worldwide Support (CWS) is a premier provider of Architecture and Engineering support services to federal customers around the world. Founded in 2016 to support federal operations OCONUS, CWS holds true to its mission that no matter the location, we are there to get the job done.
The Structural Engineer will be required to demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and client focus/customer service; be resourceful and flexible, effective at handling multiple tasks; have good computer skills; have strong presentation, written, and verbal skills; and be able to effectively delegate or be delegated to while working in a collaborative format with multiple team members.
Responsibilities
Provide value to our clients by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost, and life cycle cost.Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors, and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email, and phone as necessary.Work alone on projects or work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail the new structural systems that are needed.Assure work is accurate and coordinated, and that the quality assurance measures have been followed.Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements.Maintain appropriate contact with our existing clients so that they think of our firm when services are needed.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structures5+ years of experience in the design of industrial, power generation, facilities, and structuresWorking knowledge of Structural Analysis and Design Software (specifically RAM suite preferredBIM strategies using Revit and NavisworksPE License (or on path to obtain)Background check with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to travel to client locations as neededStrong written and verbal communicationKnowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)Ability to lead the pursuit of projects for new and existing clients by meeting with them to discuss the projects, conducting presentations, and writing proposals.Ability to provide technical assessments of potential project opportunities to aid in project go/no-go decisions.Ability to lead and oversee the work of other engineers and designers as a Project Design Lead or a Project Manager to develop project deliverables.Ability to perform structural analysis and design calculations following office structural design standards.Ability to stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities. Specific design-related services include:Building foundation design, including shallow and deep foundationsConcrete pit and trench designSoil retention design, including those for temporary constructionSlab on grade and elevated slab designEquipment lifting design and layoutFall protection design for general industry and constructionBuilding design using steel, concrete, masonry, and woodConnection designEquipment support design and layoutMechanical process piping supports.Develop specification documents
